The materials of this family are based on asphalt modified usually with either APP or SBS (especially if it is about resistance to very low temperatures, e.g. -20 Celcius ). To achieve mechanical stability and high strength asphalt is reinforced with polyester mesh of various types depending on the intended use of the material. Both bitumen and bituminous membranes due to the nature of the materials used for their production, ensure excellent waterproofing properties, making them suitable for a multitude of applications both in infrastructure projects (roads, bridges, tunnels, etc.) and building applications (substrates floors, waterproofing of tiled roofs, etc.).
